Team for Sevilla
Anyone from Sevilla watching the game at Liverpool would have been left scratching their heads, wondering what kind of a team and how much of a threat we are. They would have seen a team that constantly surrenders possession in a very un-Spanish way, but which carves out some fabulous chances which it fails to take due to some diabolical finishing.

Anyway, it seems Sevilla are going through a bit of a sticky patch as well, but this game will obviously be by far the sternest test yet of our European aims. But we will be a serious test for them too, so it's going to be a fascinating contest.

Given that Vlasic and Benrahma did little to impress at Liverpool, it's pretty much a team that picks itself, provided Rice and Bowen are fit again, which I think they will be. It'll be interesting to see if Moyes sticks with regular cup keeper Areola or reverts to his No.1, now that we're into the serious part of the competition. I would give Areola the nod.

Johnson Dawson Zouma Cresswell
Soucek Rice
Bowen Lanzini Fornals

Ah it´s on whufc.com, Bowen will miss the game and didn´t travel. Rice is there and should play.

Re: Team for Sevilla
Anyone know if Bowen travelled to Sevilla?

I put Vlasic before Benrahma because Benrahma has had plenty of game time to show what he can do. He was good in the summer, but since then and especially recently has been terrible. Vlasic I can see some promising signs and think he has not been given enough time to find out if he is good enough. I think he will come though. Having said that I would love to see Benrahma find his form again.

Am I right in thinking OxoFleck is still ineligible, read somewhere he was set to play.
Even if he is, he won't

I've seen nothing from Vlasic to see why he should be starting games.

Benrahma lanzini and fornals all in front of him imo.

As disappointing as Vlasic has been I would still give him the nod over Benrahama, and fancy Moyes will feel the same.

I'd start diop out wide over benrahma tbh

Have a feeling Antonio is going to play a blinder today.

I also hope we don't risk Rice if he's not 100%. After he missed the Watford game he came looking a bit fatigued.
He has to bang on his game. Moyes substitutes will be more vital than ever.

Surely after the January window we can register further players. Swap Okoflex for Ogbonna for example

Agree with the OP, although Vlasic for Bowen (as he is out), time for him to step up and produce the goods as well.

If Bowen is out I'd replace him with Benrahma.

Being a 2-legged affair, suspect Moyes will setup to not get beat.

This is now our only realistic route to the CL and keeping Declan from wanting out, so can't see anything other than full tilt at this comp.

I have a horrible feeling Bowen won't make it, looked bad at the weekend. Rice should be back and will want to play.

Rice will play . Has a sore throat and is improving .

Re: Team for Sevilla
Some of the news outlets reporting that it’s far from certain Rice will play, he’s still struggling with illness and Noble is likely to get the nod.

Another rag saying that Bowen has got severe swelling and is unlikely.

But who knows - if true

Be absolutely fuck all on the bench again.

Dig in and roll a 6 near the end or be compact and see out the draw.
